It can be put in any filter. I use them in hang on back power filters

Its an addition to the biological filteration in you tank. It takes nitrifying to break down fish waste and other organic substances in your tank. These pellets have a high surface area that allows these bacteria to colonize and spread in you tank, ultimately improving water quality
