the fabric is not mesh, not sure what it is but it doesn't snag. the pockets are plastic, there are 39 pockets and they are all 3 inches tall and range from 6 inches to 3 1/2 is the smallest. on a swivel metal hanger so you could have it facing out or hanging like any other garment in your closet.

the whole thing measures 39 inches tall and 19 inches at the "shoulders"
