The listing, 1957 A Silver Certificate has ended.
This auction is for a 1957 A Silver Certificate. Don't you wish you could still trade these in for silver these days? This bill is well circulated with folds and a few little stains, but it has no tears, rips, or holes. It also comes in a semi-rigid currency holder. Good Luck & Happy Bidding!
Silver certificates were a "promise" from the government that if you went to a bank with them, you could exchange them for hard, cold silver equivalent to the face value. There even used to be "gold notes" that you could do the same with. Our money used to be backed by actual assets. Today, we are backed by ... nothing!
you got that right-things haven't been the same since they killed kennedy-let's just cross our fingers and hope one day that life will get simpler-yea right=lol
Yep. Except for Joe Lieberman, Kennedy was the last Democrat that I think I could trust ... not that there is an abundance of Republicans that you could trust either :-)
