This is a real stunning piece. It is just less than three carats of garnet, and it is set in solid sterling, and look at the marvelous heavy basket setting that it is set in. And the top flanking marquisate is nice as well, which seems to be surrounded in a sunburst setting, this piece is fabulous! The cross itself without the bail measures just over three quarters of an inch tall, so it is not a small piece at all. You will be extremely pleased. Please note that the color of the stones is actually lighter than the picture depicts because of the shadow. It was a hard piece to photograph.
