Yes it has a regular sd slot, and it does take still shots. 4x zoom, LED light for light while filming. I bought this from another Listia seller and it did not come with a manual. One is available in PDF form on the web. You will like it!

It has a SD slot no card, it takes 3 AAA batteries, no charging cable
