Description

The listing, ALOE VARIETY~ANOTHER SELDOM SEEN PLANT~"N*O*T" ALOE VERA!!L@@K!! has ended.

This is a VARIETY of "ALOE". It is N*O*T aloe vera---the popular and widely available variety. The aloe family has between 250-500 varieties--depending on the book or website you access. So there are many, MANY varieties to choose from, with this great plant.
I found this variety at an independent nursery I used to work at. They have a ton of unusual plants, that they grow on site--and this is one of them. Unfortunately, he does NOT invest in plant stakes, that would have names and descriptions, watering directions, etc. But I found this great aloe variety , which was filled with tons of babies. I purchased it, to be able to have some (since I already have aloe vera---and this is quite different), and to share with Listia folks.
This differs from ALOE VERA in both color, and leaf. This variety is more upright, darker green in color, and much thinner leaves. ALOE VERA is typically smooth leafed--and the leaves are BEEFIER---thicker. This aloe variety is a much leaner leaf, and is much more textured, than the smooth leaf of it's "medicinal use" cousin. As with any aloe variety---they all like bright light, very little water, and are low maintenance, low care plants.
This auction is for ONE (1) LARGER baby, from the mother plant. It is be approximately 3-5 inches tall. EXPAND your "ALOE" family (or start an aloe family) with this great and rarely seen variety!!

As always, I offer FREE SHIPPING to save you $$$!

GOOD LUCK and HAPPY GARDENING!!

Happy Watching and bidding as well..
With this aloe it looks to me that the leaves seem to have a little sharper edges like a saw sorta and looks to have little nubs on it as well from what I can kinda make out?? Now is it kinda saw teeth all over the aloe or just the sides of the leaves? Looks interesting.

Hi---These leaves are longer and thinner than aloe vera. Where aloe vera is smooth with tiny saw teeth on the edges, these---the while leaf is textured (feel like sand paper), and edges of each leaf are slightly raised. Hope that helps!! Good Luck!

Sandy you'd be so proud!! The starfish plantlets you sent me are growing so well up here in Alaska! I keep them indoors and warm of course. They're getting so fuzzy I just want to pet them all the time Haha. I'm bidding on almost all the plants you have up for auction right now. They're just so healthy and beautiful!
