It's battery. Not sure how old it is. Inherited from estate sale.

Not antique but vintage and about the mid 1970s is most likely the age of it maybe early 80s too. So just an fyi since I have seen many in my work before retiring. But on the side of working and cleaning a lot of them. Sure have to admire a well made piece. Have a great auction :) I enjoyed cleaning them to see the customer's face when I give it back made the effort worth it during a battery or COA on it.

It's called a carriage alarm clock and not antique or vintage as new ones are available on ebay. it is a beautiful clock however and i bid a reasonable time on it.
