MILITARY MEDAL REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM SERVICE: this was my dads who is now past away a few years to agent orange. I really have no place for it and know there are those who would honor the medal more then me. Do not get me wrong no man can honor the time my father served more then I. Delbert ?Bert? L. Goben, LTjg, 60, St. Joseph, passed away Friday, October 2, 2009, at his home. Delbert was born on October 22, 1948, in St. Joseph, to Delbert C. and Minnie B. (Lonjers) Goben. He was a graduate of Savannah High School and a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and then the US Air Force, until his discharge in 1974. He was Commander of the O.R. Crandall Sea Cadets Division; founder and president of Chapter 638 Vietnam Veterans of America; leader of Boy Scouts of America and life member of V.F.W. Post #6760.
