Hole is approx 2mm (according to my ruler), can easily fit 1mm stretch cord through (I just tried).

Approx 10-12mm if I had to guess. They are about the size of a dime.

I honestly do not know their true origin. I purchased them in a huge lot of beads and though they are very pretty, they are not my style to create with - I figured someone here could give them a good home.
