You are incorrect. It is a PCIE and 4 pci, look up the board. AGP slots are either brown, green or orange. They are thick and bulky like the pci slots but moved inward to the left and have two sections to the slot. PCIE slots are thin and can be any color the MOBO manufacturer wants.

Hey Bamagramma15, virtual memory is space borrowed from the hard drive and used like RAM. Maybe not enough virtual memory was allocated or too much space is taken up on the hard drive for the virtual memory to be of any help. Try cleaning out temporary files or get some one who knows how to allocate more virtual memory space. Be careful though, allocating too much virtual memory will slow down the computer because it takes space from the hard drive that runs all your programs.

can you tell me what can I can get to get more virtual memory my computer says compaq presario I remember something about xp . I am 61 year old grandmother and know nothing about computers except to peck at the keys my brother bought me a laptop and I struggle with it and come back to this one computer its fine except it is always telling me I am low of virtual memory. I need something just to fix in the simplest way for me. Can anyone let me know what to buy and where to get it and that its simple fix I can do

This is my husband's response to your question:

Well, lets try this, You shouldn't have to buy anything! Virtual Memory is just space that's allocated to your hard drive that programs will use sometimes as memory! Go to your start and my computer right click on my computer and click properties! Then go to the advanced tab! Click Settings then go-to the advanced tab again! at the very bottom you will see it says virtual memory and a number that's allocated for it! Press change and set your virtual memory for your C:\ drive to a Custom Size initial size- 4000 Maximum Size -5000, Then press set and OK! And exit out! After this you should be fine with your virtual memory!
