Lost my best friend, my mother, to MM (Multiple Myeloma), a not so recognizable cancer but pretty insidious, attacks the plasma cells (blood). I miss her so much. God bless all who are suffering from cancer, or other diseases, you are a true angel Kat and thank you for having these auctions, I really can't say too much more, as I am choked up with emotion, reading all these soul baring, wonderfully candid, testaments from everyone. You know ...I just loved reading your post. I do lots of auctions and fret myself to death about how they will do. Not with this one. It is just a gift an avenue to reach out to people who need prayer. Listia seems like the perfect avenue to do it. A lot of people suffering from debilitating illness are on their computer a lot. I love that they can come here and find other people facing the same thing and know that WE ARE STRONGER TOGETHER. Receive prayer and hope. So many people are so generous with their intimate stories and sharing them with strangers.

I would also, if I may, like to raise awareness for one of the most debilitating Mental Illnesses: Bipolar Disease! I have learned so much about it myself having taken part 4 years now in a 10 year study via U of M. It is inherited,and is NOT a syndrome. I was diagnosed with anything you can think of, till I finally accepted the Diagnosis in 2006-the same year they approved me for SSD for physical issues.
If I remember correctly, July is Bipolar Month and our ribbon is green.
If anyone reading this also has Bipolar Disease, don't hide under a rock any longer. there is no shame in being sick!!

And to starlia33: hun, I feel so much for your friend. I am a (disabled) nurse, and I had more than one patient I took care of and watched die from this insidious and horrible disease!
I will pray for her, and all of us, also!

I want to say thank you for another great auction! The good, prayèrs, and hope that I see here is truly amazing! My husband is just 36 years old and has had 14 heart attacks, many stents, angioplasties too many to remember, a quadruple bypass and mitral valve repair, and most recently was again hospitalized for congestive heart failure caused by a bacterial pneumonia! He is going to be having a defibrillator put in next month! I know it's not cancer but we could really use some prayer right now! Power in numbers!! Praying for all who are suffering from at affected by any disease/illness! God bless you for the gift that you are giving by opening an avenue of sharing and awareness! Another wonderful Listian listed some homeopathic or natural things to do that I am going to do myself. I really believe all of our ailments are a part of all the chemicals we eat, ingest, breathe. I am working on changing my lifestyle slowly to rid as many of these from my life as possible.

Today marks not only the second anniversary of my uncle Jonathan's death, but also my grandmothers remission (15 years today) date. Jonathan left behind four children (8-18) and a loving wife at the age of 43 to colon cancer stage 4 and we miss him dearly.
Having lost more than a couple of important people to this vicious disease, this auction brought tears to my eyes. Absolutely beautiful what you're doing. Bless your soul. <3

I am so very sorry for your loss. Bless the hearts of those babies that lost their Father. It makes me angry, all the lives destroyed by Cancer. So so many lives forever affected and missing a piece of our hearts for those we have lost.

Thank you for your kind words and support in prayer! We are very careful with what he eats now, after having so many heart problems he has developed full blown, insulin dependant diabetes so we have to watch closely. I'm a believer of homeopathic remedies as well! I believe that God has a plan for my husband or he wouldn't have made it through so much already. We are grateful for modern medicine when it comes to the defibrillator going in. It may just be what saves his life next time!

What a beautiful auction, Kat!
Last year I had a very suspicious lump in my right breast that the radiologist had rated a '5'-the highest rating for probability of having breast cancer. But then many of you may already be aware of this.
Thank God it was benign although I had a lumpectomy done as there were so many little tendrils coming off the ugly thing.

So far (optimistically) I am one of the lucky ones, but I am so much more aware of the importance of regular Mammograms and self examinations!!
This awesome auctions promotes that awareness even further!
You, of course, are already fanned, and I will be watching and bidding later on!

I give you advice I hope you will listen...take Alive no iron. It is the most natural multivitamin. You get it cheapest at vitacost.com. Next take flourstor probiotic the cheapest place Costco. Next eat only organic meats and poultry and only organicn fruits and vegeatbles. Buy your self a vitamix and only drink spring water. Next pray...you will be fine. People complain they cost more but not really cause you will feel better within two weeks. Ezikiel bread too. You can buy from Costco even non members

OMGoodness! I love that you shared this. I personally have not been diagnosed with cancer however I just had surgery to remove 3 hernias, one of which was strangulated and I am still having stomach issues so they want to do a colonoscopy...which ...is really nerve racking. I am taking a probiotic "Culturelle". We do try to eat organic, hormone free meat. Spring Water..hmmm, gonna have to look into that. Gonna look up that multi vitamin. Pray...I got that, I do a lot of that. Wonderful advice!! Thank you so much for sharing!!!

Yes, Thank Jesus, got best report ever. But also sad note, had a funeral for his cousin same day he got his report.Im thinking Jesus works in a strange way. I pray too, we are so blessed every day you are not sick. You are so wonderful !! i understand how hard it is to funnction even to try n get thru our auctions but our listian family are wonder people! the uplift you when you need it most! my 77 year old mother i take care of full time is on dyalisis just fell n took 5 days of laying in 2 different hospitals to finally have surgery on her left broken hip but her left brokeken shoulder has to heal on its own as it will be to dangereous to operate! then my 54 yr old brother died in march of cancer and my 50 year old sister has to wear a colostomy bag for the rest of her life as she has colon cancer! so everyone remember to get your colon tests... you are wonderful to bring awareness to this cancer also! its terrible that there is so much termoil in everyones lives, but we are all lucky to have our wonderful listia family , thank you and god bless you all my prayers go out to all you too ! hugz♥♡♥

I just lost my mother Monday. From a combination of heart, kidney, and diabetes. She died at home the way she wanted. She told us on her 82 nd birthday and 6 weeks later she died. I am still numb. It was very upsetting to watch this great mother with so much life And so much to give to waste away so fast. But I can say I did make amends to the things I did and she forgave me. And I was there everyday to talk and hold her hand. Until the end

Wow this is just amazing. I am about to turn 44 and am disabled--it took a lot for me to even admit this to myself as I have always worked hard. Between my disability and other medical issues (like diabetes or lumps among other) that I have developed since becoming disabled I take over 20 pills a day and sometimes I am still unable to get out of bed.

I just have to say, that this is wonderful for what you are doing this for. I know for some of us, it is hard to ask for help because we have that pride and I for one usually was the one giving the help not on the receiving end. Thank you for helping bring awareness and support to those affected or knowing someone that has been affected.

Great auction but so very sad too. I cried through almost the whole comments section. I recently lost a close mentor to brain cancer, also my cousin 3 years ago ho was 32 to brain cancer. My grandmother to colon cancer. I am bipolar as was my mother who committed suicide July 2 made 3 years. She was 52. I myself also have a lot of physical pain and don't always get out of bed, I only recently found listia and some days addressing packages is my purpose in getting up. It's been really hard on my husband of 20 years to deal with all of this. Everybody here seems really nice and caring. God bless you all.
