it does matter what service the phone came from unless it is unlocked if the phone came from t-mobile then you can not put an at&t sim card in it and just expect it to work. you will have to have it unlocked and if it is a discontinued phone t-mobile will not unlock it and you will have to pay to have it done.so in my opinion if you do not have t-mobile service it would not be worth bidding more than 3500 on it
