This is used to transfer files from one computer onto another computer. I looked it up to see if it will work for Windows 8 and the answer I found, no reason it won't. In excellent condition. I saw one exactly like this on Amazon for $65.00. As you can see in picture 2 the cord is longer than the one in picture 3.
