I'm sorry, I didn't quite understand that. Is it one "ball" to start with and go up as the bids do, or is it 10 balls to start out with?

One jumbo "ball" to start as bids go up ill add another "ball" i will have to stop at 10 "balls " that is all i have. hope that helps

i dont know much about yarn but the look like the long ones you get a walmart. my aunt gave the to me, muost of them look like she never used them and they all look like the regular yarn that you would make a blanket out of i almost posative ther is no wool ones.. hope this helps
