The listing, Wild Maine Lupine Seeds, Multicolor, 10 Pods Full of Seeds- Last of the Season!! has ended.
These are the last of the season!
Here on the coast of Maine it is known for the lovely June show of lupines overlooking the ocean. They are everywhere and I take pictures of them every year. Pictured are the seed pods you are bidding on - 10 of them, and I will throw in plenty extras! Each pod contains about 5 seeds.
These were matured naturally (not picked green) and ready for sowing!
The pods have a gray soft fuzz over a hard shell, and about a month after flowering, usually late July (up here in Maine), the seed pods go from green to dark gray as they dry out, and once completely dried, the pods burst open and spray the seeds everywhere. This is a revered time among Mainers, and no field clearing is to be done while the lupines are seeding, which lasts from late July into August.
These are hardy plants, and they grow fast. Planting time for the seeds is late summer and early fall, and you can plant them right away, or wait til next year, just keep them dry.
