Woo Hoo! I'm just starting out in physical art (been doing digital for a bit now) and teaching myself so I'm needing to stock up as cheaply as I can, considering all the mistakes I'll be making. :)
I'm self-taught, too. I'm much better at paining than I am drawing, so I'm giving up the stuff I never use :) I hate for all of these supplies to sit here unused when someone could be showing them some love!
I'm so excited about all the different media I've been exploring... so far my favorite has been a tie between watercolor pencils and charcoal. I've got to try my hand at pastels next. :) I'll know my niche when I find it!
I could use jars likejelly sized jars or smaller such as baby food jars. i make herbal tinctures and use smaller type jars, usually less that pint sized to store them in. the cardboard type egg cartons are good to start seeds in then cut each "egg"section apart & plant the whole thing in the ground, plus the carton adds some natural fertilizer to the soil and planting this way doesnt disturb the new roots when transplanting.I suppose the styrofoam cartons could be used to sort & separate small or seed beads when stitching or stringing or storing. They could also be used to to shape easter eggs for easter decorations when using polymer clay or even cookie dough & then bake into egg shaped cookies & roll in colored sugars-this is just a few ideas i was just thinking about, but worthwhile to have a few of these things on hand for!:-)
I have tons of 8oz jelly jars. I don't think I have baby food jars anymore, but I might. I buy the better eggs, so I only have the cardboard cartons. Those are all good ideas. Maybe you can mention them again when I list them. :) I have sooooo much, that I could do all of these things and more. It's time to share :)
