are they codes off of something you bought or promo like you read it from somewhere

1 time use codes are a random mixture of #'s & letters. Promo codes are generally words (like the recent twitter ones). Promo codes can't be auctioned off, and fall under the "exceptions" of the reward category - this is because they are available to everyone for free, & people could be bidding on a code they have already entered. If it is a promo code the winner can request a refund.
