Questions & Comments
NICE!!! Fan & Watching....A tip on postage.....Mail it Priority Mail USPS with tracking and you get 50.00 insurance with that,,,,should not be much over 6.00-8.00 to most of the US.....I did that with one for E-Bay and it cost about 7.00.....WELCOME TO Listia!!! :).
Sorry, that isn't real clear - PayPal has shipping built in with the site. If someone pays you on PayPal, you just click on "print shipping label", and it even fills in the address for you. You can do any 'rate', from media and 'package services' to international priority mail. Have fun!
You should never pay for or accept payment through anything except the "Pay for Goods and Services" on the "Send and Request" option. That is the only place you will be able to recover your shipping charges from in case of a dispute. The other options for paying or receiving money don't have that protection. "germanrachel" is dead wrong and should be ashamed of herself for even SUGGESTING that option to you! It's even listed in the Listia info about how to work your auctions. Go to the bottom of any page and click on each item and read everything there. You will find aALL the answers and advice you need for ANYTHING on Listia there straight from Listia. Don't trust anyone who is telling you how to go about saving money on PayPal. There's only one SAFE way to use PayPal, as I have told you here. Good luck and be careful! Just go STRICTLY by what Listia says and you will be fine!!! FW&B
^^^^^^ Not a Good Idea. you should make sure that you are clear in your description that winner will also be responsible for the fee. if you are not a case will be opened up against you and you will lose the item and the credits. be careful, there are alot of people looking for these kinds of mistakes to burn you.
Also if you win an auction from someone else and they charge shipping, then when you login to Paypal and go to transfer funds to seller, click friends and family so full amount goes through to seller. Otherwise a small fee gets taken out from PayPal (service fee) and seller doesn't get full amount. Same as for you charging from someone else. I was informed of this right after my first auction I won, the seller only got a small portion of shipping rate because I just clicked on the regular transfer funds option. The seller said it was okay that he would take the hit and cover the difference, but that I should know for next time how most sellers on Listia use friends & family option only on PayPal. If others disagree with this then, okay, but this is what i learned and now share with new Listians! Hope this helps and Welcome to Listia!
You can just put the box and all inside a flat rate envelope (which you get free from the PO) and it will ship for around $5.50 or $5.05 it you use paypal. It will also include tracking.
A tip for you - if you use PayPal, you get cheaper shipping rates, and you will ALWAYS have a tracking number - and you WANT a tracking number, believe me. Welcome, welcome, welcome to Listia! I'm also in Virginia, so we are practically neighbors [grin].
PayPal is very easy and self-explanatory. You do have to have a bank account and link PayPal to your account. It is the most trusted way to receive or send money and is used everywhere for on-line shipping. A VERY safe way to handle on-line transactions. If you ever have a dispute, PayPal will see that you get your money back and help settle the dispute. Just go to www.PayPal.com and follow the steps. I do ALL my on-line shopping with them to pay through. If you have any questions about how to do things here on Listia, I will be happy to try to answer them for you. Just make sure you go to the bottom of any page and read everything there. It will give you all the answers you need about how to get around on Listia. If there is something you don't understand, though, just ask. I've been here quite a while. Thanks for this great auction!!! FW&B (Fanned, Watching & Bidding!!!) Just noticed you're an EMT---me, too, only retired now! Thank you for your good work there, too! It takes a special breed to do that job!!! Light, Love and Blessings MOST Abundant! Bobbie
To you it should be 5.95. I used a priority mail 2 - day small flat rate box to 18901 from 20109. If you want to make sure I am correct you can go to the USPS website and put the information in.
