The listing, Lot of genuine Alaskan beach treasures! Can't afford to come to Alaska? Let Alaska come to you! has ended.
Personally scavenged, and hunted for by yours truly!
These treasures were found in Settlers Cove, Ketchikan, Ak (google it!) 99901 :) It is a very popular beach on the furthest north end of town (mile 18 marker). That's the end of the road on the north side! My boyfriend, daughter, and I spent a few hours on the beach, trying to choose the coolest, best treasures we could find. Was hoping for abalone, or sand dollars, but not this time :(
These are Pacific ocean treasures, from Alaska, and will smell like beach, I promise you that, so if you don't like that good ole ocean, fishy, beachy, low-tide smell, you might wanna keep moving :)
In this collection, I will send:
Varies shapes and sizes of beach and drift wood. Some of it is almost petrified bark off of trees! The salt water almost pickles stuff, and smoothes and grinds away. A wide, vast, and mighty ocean, does the most gentle changes to it's habitants. Only God and the ocean know how old, or where these drift wood pieces came from, and they aren't telling! One even has a piece of moss growing on it!
A piece of yellow cedar. If you ever have had the chance to smell red or yellow cedar fresh... It is TO DIE for. And burns quite nicely. Very popular for the Alaskan Native's to weave baskets, and hats out of.
Various piece of rock, some have already been smoothed by the ocean's touch, some are still jagged, freshly introduced :) Some possible quartz pieces? (they sure look like it! But I'm no geologist or anything!) And a rock that looks like a potato! HAHA
A few pieces of beach glass... This is glass(garbage, old bottles, etc.) that has been conditioned by the salt water. It is usually frosty in appearance and very smooth edges :) You can find all sorts of colors, but I only found white this time! Cool item to try to make jewelry out of :)
