Im guessing thats some sort of tarnishing or damage to the face of the coin?

Unfortunately yes. I tried to put up more pictures earlier, but apparently you can't alter auctions towards the end. There's a bit on the cheek, and some light surface rust looking spots on the back.

Just a bit more info. This coin is almost Identical in size to a Washington quarter, on my Digiweigh it comes up 7.0g and .225ozt. This makes it 40% silver. There is some rust on it, as seen in the pictures. I unfortunately can't find definitive answers as to what the other metal contents in it are. At any rate, it's already in an envelope and will be in the mail shortly after the auction ends tomorrow. Good luck, Happy Bidding.

Thanks for the quick response. Interesting it is rust, I actually have a 1949 Krona, it looks different than this, but is also 40% silver, I am not completely sure on the other 60% composition of the coin, they silver content on these is pretty close to a mercury or silver roosevelt dime.

Yeah, no problem. It seems this design started in '52. Here's the site I got the info on this one from. It's pretty much my first stop for foreign stuff that I have no idea about. If it's interesting on there then I dig further on Google. http://coinquest.com/cgi-bin/cq/coins

I usually use Numista or NGC but that site is good too. Good Luck selling the coin
