Description

The listing, New Handcrafted Kenyan Necklace 3 day auction has ended.

Meticulously handcrafted bead and seed necklace brought back from a trip to Kenya in Africa. Pale seed pods are perfectly spaced by golden, silvery and amber colored beads and dark brown seeds. One large brown bead intersects the two sides for a very flattering, feminine look. A brass colored barrel clasp blends well and keeps the necklace securely fastened.

The part which goes around your neck measures 20 inches, the large bead and and strands below it measure another 7 inches.

A striking and unique necklace for yourself or as a lovely gift.

Hmm, I am not sure how to measure or describe that...I don't see any problem with normal wear, but I wouldn't let that little guy in your picture use it for a toy. :o)
the barrel clasp is of good quality and the strands are securely fastened to it. There is no looseness in the clasp, fastenings or between the beads and seeds. It is nicely made. Hope that helps!

This may help, too. There are five strands on either side. They combine into ten strands below the large bead.

I guess I'm wondering how likely the beads/seeds are to break from normal wear and tear (definiltly not as being used as a toy lol) I know some woodens beads or seeds used as beads are prone to breaking just from occasional handling. thanks for your reply!

Oh, oh, I see. They are not crumbly at all. The lighter colored pods look delicate but are more like a pistachio shell. The little dark ones appear to be preserved in varnish. The big bead in the middle is either painted and polished wood or plastic and likewise does not seem likely to fall apart. If you win and are not happy with it I will certainly take it back and refund your credits. I am that confident the winner will be pleased ;o)
