The listing, Large "girl"Firefighter bank and two small little boy firefighters statues.MUST LOOK AT THESE has ended.
These are so adorable! They are made of a hardened plastic is what I'd call it. My husband and I are both fireman and we're running out of space to put all of our fire collectables. You can count on many more coming to listia.
Questions & Comments
HUGE firefighter supporter/collector----fanned and watching.
that is hilarious that your son knows so much about fire trucks and ambulances----i guess it's better than him knowing about other stuff! I hate to break it to ya, but I think the fire truck in the yard is a good idea too! LOL. I'm with the kiddo on this one! Maybe redo his room with a fire truck theme as a surprise?
Oh no! I'm not telling him you said that! !!! He's so smart about that stuff. I'll tell you something kinda funny but he did get into trouble for it. There was a house fire across the street one night and he was on the porch watching them. He was unaware I was standing beside the porch, the next thing I heard was "I think you better start pulling hose you dumb asses!". He almost stroked when he heard me say his name! His room is done in g.i. Joe's which is his other love. Our house (4100 Sq ft) is done in fire/EMS. That's why I need to get rid of some of it. Have way too much.
They must be good boys then. I was medic/firefighter for 25 years and wouldn't trade the time for anything. I'm putting more stuff on, we have way too much.
plan to----and hoping to get more credits before this one ends so i can bid. I'm actually going to my city's annual Fire Prevention Parade tomorrow (Fire Muster). their 60th---they said they'd have surprises in the line up----last time they said that some famous fire engines were in the parade.
Oh, I want to go! ! Our son is 9 and he's ate up with firetrucks, ambulances, and police cars! We are 4 blocks from the firehouse and he checks in daily. Our ambulance service is just across the street so he goes there also. He can tell you what is in every compartment of every truck, ambulance included. He knows every signal & 10 code used. Now his latest thing is he wants us to buy a firetruck & put it in our yard. The sad part is that my husband thinks it's a good idea!
They really are. Not angels, but really incredible people who I am so proud of. Michael has wanted to be a FireFighter( like a lot of kids) since he was 3. and Never gave up, or changed his mind. I Love running into people like you, who spent all those years risking your life to save others. It is amazing what you have done. Will keep watching for your future auctions. Thank you:)
Thank you. However, my time in the streets was very therapeutic for me. When you see such tragedy, children taken from parents, the hurt of family losing loved ones it made me so much appreciate what I had and knowing that at any given moment it could be taken from me. When I would have those "feel sorry for me" days like I wish I had more money, bigger house, nicer car, I would think of certain runs and then feel guilty for such selfish thinking.
I am so sorry! !!I totally forgot to get the measure, here they are: little girl is almost 8" tall 6" wide 5" front to back and is also a bank. Can't remember if I put that in description or not. One figure is about 4 1/2" tall, other is about 4 1/4"tall, both about 3 1/2 " wide and 2 1/2" from front to back. These figures are lightweight and very cute. Hope that helps.
WOW that is kind of funny! I'm sure he freaked when he heard you call his name too! LOL. I'll be watching for new stuff, since I don't have enough credits to re-bid on this one, yet anyway. If I do before it ends I'll be back though.
I know exactly what you mean, and getting older, lol & not very healthy, although able to do so much more than others I come into contact with, I am grateful where I "am" things could always be so much worse. And my sons have seen enough & been through their share, in their "younger years" to show them. They are grateful for what they do have. Not just material things. They take good care of their things & they already know what it is to work/earn things they have. One of our dogs, a 6 yr old German Short-Haired Pointer, was killed 2 weeks ago. The 2 of them( our dogs) went chasing a deer or squirrel & 4 hours later, I found out that one had run into a street( never had before) & was hit by a truck. The guy driving jumped out, put our dog in his truck & drove to the Vet's but it was too late. I was devastated. I love both of our dogs, but this one was quite a character & I cried & felt horrible as anyone would. One of my sons, after about a week said, "Mom, it's going to be ok" "You will move on. "Remember you told us things are going to happen in life that will hurt you. Life Goes On. You know that" Too hear things like that you told your kids when they were much younger is just Grace? I have only told a few people because when I talk about it I cry. And I have lost my share of loved ones. It is great to watch my sons want so badly to do something with their lives that impacts others.
Yes, I totally agree with you. I love my dog the same way and when he dies I will be devastated. I think my kids learned a lot while growing up from my job. They were with me quite often when I made runs when I was off-duty. They knew better than to step one foot out of the car or they would be the next patient in the ambulance!! They seen many things. I also taught them that nobody owes them, especially me. If I get them stuff it's because I want to not have to. I see and hear them telling my grandkids the same stuff so I know it stuck with them.
Big fan of fire/ems..large collection in my house..lost my uncle in the 70's fighting a fire in a supermarket in Brooklyn NY when the roof caved in..could not become FDNY myself due to being color bound..devastated since that was my dream..lost several people I knew on 9/11..lots of respect for what you do..fanned ..please fan back
Fanned and I'm watching your Winchester buckle also. We are gun nuts here also. Just recently got an AR15 before something happened and we couldn't due to all the gun crap going on. I have several fire helmets that hang on one of our walls and one of them is from NY. Hate to hear of the deaths you've had to deal with. It's also sad that you were unable to experience the firefighter life. It's really different now days, there's lots of women out there. I've seen some that could probably whoop the ***** out of half the men on the department!!
