All pattern books call for their own brand of yarn.

The Debbie Bliss patterns use merino and merino mix yarns If you click on the pics on this page: http://www.theknittinggarden.com/db-book6.htm and you'll see (even the missing ones) the info you're looking for.

I can't find a page for the CEY pattern book so I'll list info in the order I have them listed in Item 2 above: 1st thru 4th, heavy worsted superwash merino, 5th - 8th worsted wool blend, 9th - 13th bulky wool blend

Mission Falls: worsted cotton for all three
