It is VERY black! It is probably my poor lighting that makes it appear brownish, or maybe my background. It is a gorgeous bra! It just didn't fit me correctly when I got it home. Fanning back! Good luck!

I would not say it added a size like many bras do. It is padded pretty consistently, light at the top and a little more at the bottom for lift.
