One way to tell if cameo is shell is to shine a flashlight through it. If it is resin the light will not shine through it freely as with shell. Shell is concave not flat on bottom. Can you post a picture of the back. It is a pretty cameo. Fanned and watching. Please fan back.

Hi there, I posted a picture of the back of the cameo. I tried to shine a light and I just don't know what I am looking for as far as it being shell or not. I have fanned back...thanks for the help.

The shell would allow the light to pass through the salmon color. Semi-translucent. Resin would block the light.

My grandma died and it was in her collection of jewelry. She was 93, but I really have no idea when she bought this. Sorry, I couldn't be of more help.
