Questions & Comments
know this is the 1.8 ghz correct?\ whichbios is it running ? and can the chipset handle the higfher processor\upgrade i am impressed with the fact the the clock runs the higher default speed though,is this mother working fine? thank you sorry so many ?'s
Mand, look at my comment above. It is compatible with any computer that has a case with an ATX Form factor and a 300 or 400 Watt powersupply should do the trick. It should handle everything from slow and totally obsolete winXP to win7 32 or 64 bit depending on the AMD Socket 939 processor you have
Harmony - you're welcome. I fix them and build them for a living :)
You have been such a great help! Thank you so much! My husband is out of town so I can't ask him these questions like I can when he is here. i really appreciate you helping me with this.
Definitely not good for gaming but still a solid motherboard if you need one. It's 3 generations obsolete but you could use it to replace yours if you have an AMD socket 939 processor. It has no integrated graphics so you'd need an old AGP vid card. Has 2 SATA Slots so you could put in a newer HDD and DVD drive but I doubt the bios would see anything higher than 320 or 500 gigs. 2 IDE slots to hook up your old old slow IDE hard drive or cd/dvd drive. It would probably handle windows 7 ok, I haven't really had many problems with upgrading this generation to windows 7.
Oops Lyfsuxx, missed your questions - It's a stock 1.8 ghz single core 64 bit processor overclockable to 2.2 with no voltage adjustments and 2.4 with minor adjustments , 64K of Level1 instruction cache 64k of level1 data cache 512k of level 2 cache, 1000mhz HyperTransport FSB and concurrent 64 Bit and 32 bit capability. The chipset will handle it just fine. As for the bios and condition, I don't know
