The clasp at the top opens to reveal a small space where you would have a printed note of pertinent medical information in case of an accident, such as severe allergies or diseases such as diabetes. This information could be critical if you were unconscious and paramedics needed to treat you immediately.
This bracelet has a metal stretch band that is 7.5 inches circumference. I have worn it once but with my wrist being 7.75", it just was not comfortable for me. While it did not come with a template, I have made one up for you so you can easily create your own emergency info insert. FYI: It is tiny. I created mine on the computer using size 6 font. I can't read it but I'm told the paramedics have no problem.
