Description

The listing, Beautiful Fuschia Four O'Clock Flower Seeds (25) has ended.

"Four O'Clocks", as the name implies, possess the curious habit of opening its blooms in late afternoon, remaining open all through the night.

Perhaps the real beauty of four o'clocks is that often their delicate appearance belies their tough resistance to prolonged drought & poor soil - along with a steely resolve against smoke, fumes and other atmospheric pollution.

Four o'clocks should be planted directly into the ground in early spring. Although usually listed as an annual, four o'clocks are very efficient about reseeding themselves, and for all intents and purposes are perennials that don't need replanting year after year.

This listing is for a quantity of 25 Four O'Clock seeds (Fuschia). As each plant matures and "self-plants" each year, make sure to space your plantings by a minimum of 12 - 16 inches.

So pretty, my grandmother always had these at her front porch and the plants were huge, I have some started now at my back steps! Pretty plants and flowers!

I love them! My *mother* plant was from my grandmother. This was always my favorite of the flowers in her yard, and as a kid she'd make me collect all the seeds off the ground (as punishment! LOL!). I think she *knew* that I really enjoyed doing it though - but that's the kind of grandmother she was. These flowers always remind me of her - and when she passed away I brought one of her plants home and planted it in my yard. It's been going for almost 20 years now.

I'm not exactly sure. Mine has been outside and only in the morning sun for several years now. I would think that as long as it were close to some sort of window where it could get some sunlight, it would probably do fine.

They do get large unless potted. My one original plant and it's seedlings have taken over a 7' x 8' area of my backyard over the past few years. The *mother* plant stands almost 6 feet tall!

The flowers are wonderfully fragrant but the seeds are extremely poisonous. Be sure to keep them out of the reach of children and pets. (the seeds)
