It's 3 separate metal containers 2 0ne quart and 1 two quart all have plastic lids that fit each one.
There is a heat adjustment knob in the front
You can remove the containers and the metal frame so you have a flat heatable surface to keep bread and such warm
all parts are machine washable and stainless steel
the parts nest into each other with the lids upside down for easy storage
