This is kind of a cool little Zippo! I bought it at a yardsale, still works great though it's a little gritty opening.
Its a 1992(I think) Zippo, not US army issued but it looks like this was carried into the recent Iraq war. It's banged, dinged and dented up but that's a sign of love from what I can see. The front is crudely engraved

I looked up the quote, and this is what I got

I can't help but wonder who carried this lighter. 3-03 was the first wave of Us soldiers to go into Iraq (March 2003 I believe).
Who was L. Denn? I don't know. A bored soldier? Maybe an officer? Did he live? Die? We might never know.
When I got it, it was filthy so I spent almost all day washing and cleaning it. You could hardly see the engraving it was so dirty.
I even had to get the sand out of inside the lighter, I hope I got it all!
