Description

The listing, Banknote; Canada; 1 dollar; 1967 Confederation Centennial; Regular Issue; UNC; + BONUS has ended.

Thank you for browsing.

Treasure hunting has gone very well the last few weeks and now it's time to begin sharing the booty. In 1967 Canada celebrated it's 100th (Centennial) Anniversary of Confederation by issuing commemorative coinage; in addition, commemorative one dollar ($1.00) banknotes were issued. The main addition was the maple leaf symbol for the Confederation (see 4th pic)

The winner of this auction will receive one (1) 1967 Canada 1 dollar bill regular issue in uncirculated (UNC) condition. Signatures are J.R. Beattie and L. Raminsky.

PLEASE NOTE - This banknote is graded as uncirculated (UNC) condition and you will receive the exact banknote shown in the photographs. The grading was done by a third party from whom I purchase regularly - and trust implicitly for their expertise and honesty. Coin easel NOT included. ;-)

BONUS - This banknote will come, as shown in the photos, with a semi-rigid bill holder.

Questions and comments are always welcome. Thank you for your interest and supporting Listia.  If you like what you see, please feel free to view my full auction listing for other interesting treasures looking for a forever loving home.  If you don’t see what you’re looking for, please feel free to send me a Listia email - you just never know. :-)

INTERESTING FACT - “In addition to the regular serial number and asterisk issues released for circulation, a special collectors issue was prepared with the dates “1867 1967” replacing the serial numbers and were available only from the Bank of Canada at face value (although many later entered circulation. The collectors issue has remained very common, as they were hoarded by the public.” CoC 2014

Granted, I'm a little (okay, maybe a lot) biased, but I agree 100%!

Canada Post also does an amazing job with commemorative postage products...coming soon. ;-)
