The listing, Cuckoo Clock has ended.
This listing is for the Cuckoo Clock you see in the pictures. I got this used a year ago thinking I would use it but I never did. It is used I don't know anything about it's history. I'm not sure it works, I don't know how to start it. It looks like all the pieces are there. There is a cute little bird inside the door. Let me know if you have any questions.
Questions & Comments
I agree. It looks like a German Black Forrest Clock. If all the pieces are there is can be cleaned and it will work. The movement is done through gravity and weight. I would love this. Fanned and Bidding!
F&W Legitimate question. Have you any guess to the weight of the clock? 10...15...20 Lbs. Sounds like a stupid question doesn't it? I have got a good reason for this :) I like what I can see! Thank you dear.
Agreed it is a German made clock! My husbands great grandmother had one and it was left to us. I believe it may even be considered an antique. Ours is very heavy! I believe there is some sort of wind up action to get it going again.
It could be I thought that too. I looked at the top where the stain is lighter thinking that's where it came off. But it doesn't look like there was adhesive in the area and a imprint where the bird would've been. So I don't know.
I don't don't think so...I'm trying to figure out how it works. Lol I got it and let it in my closet for a year. I just decided that someone should have It that would use it. I'll see if I can figure out.
What are the dimensions of this thing. I can't tell if its tiny or not. I've never seen a movement like that in a cuckoo clock or the word cuckoo on the front. I don't think its a black forest but I'm still interested.
Do you have the pendulum with this? I am not seeing it in the pics. Are you showing all that is with this? Might be missing a top decoration piece, not 100% sure on this, but many have this. Thanks
Hi there. No, there is no winding mechanism. The 2 heavy metal acrons hang on the chains that come from the bottom of the housing. The clock is hung on the wall and the 2 weights engage the clock to tick. There is a small hanging adjustable pendulum that controls the speed of the clock. The cuckoo also is propelled by the weight system. It will sound "cockoo" on the hour! Hope I wasn't too long winded! I love this clock. My mother had one when I was a child. Very nice!
