Description
The listing, 5 Hosta 'Pilgrim' Seeds, 2010 has ended.
Hosta 'Pilgrim' is a large variety that gets pale lavender flowers. This plant is for your full shade to part shade garden. Hostas don't do well in sun. I received babies of this plant from a friend this past year and they grew big and flowered for me. I live in the woods in zone 6 and the slugs and deer did not bother with this Hosta. The photo is from Dave's Garden.com. My photos of this Hosta were lost to a computer virus. :-p
Due to current economic circumstances, I will only be shipping on Fridays.
Questions & Comments
I have a few hostas in my yard and and new to them. I am wondering if you can answer my question....After the flowers die back and a hard green shell forms, is this the seed? Thanks
Yes. That's the seed. I wait until the flower pod dries on the plant and turns brown and then the seeds are ready. Hostas are neat plants for shade areas where most flowers won't grow. They come in hundreds of varieties from miniatures that are as big as a softball for the entire plant, to huge giants that are impressive at public gardens. 'White Feather' is all white, 'Captain Kirk' is yellow, but all Hostas come from only one place: Japan. Your local library probably has some books on these.
will this plant survive inside? i really like this one, and im working on growing starts of plants from my mom to fill my place with plants. id still want this if it has to be outside though. thanks.
