Description

The listing, The Green Collection has ended.

10.32 total carats! These stones are all genuine gemstones--no simulants or lab-created. This exquisite collection of natural gemstones contains solitaires that would look stunning in a ring, stones that would be lovely as earrings and accent stones. This collection may include emerald (one is slightly more than a carat and is unbelievably beautiful), moldavite, tsavorite garnet, sapphire, peridot, chrome diopside, small diamonds, spinel and/or zircon. Cuts are round, oval, pear, heart, marquis, trilliant, square and/or heart.

Thank you, I appreciate it! I never doubted the quality of the gems, I like taking people on their word. I'm just not sure I would be able to correctly identify them without a guideline of sorts.

I promise you there is a lovely emerald in this parcel. Good size and quality. Look towards one o'clock in the photo. It's an oval.

I've still got a lot to learn about gems. If I won would you send a note with the gems stating how many of each and what gems are in the parcel? It'd be easier to categorize them!

Tell you what, TrentDouglasDavis. You read all the feedback people have given about the quality of my gemstones. Then come back and bid. If you win, I'll add in a book on how to identify gemstones. :)

evclemm, I'll throw in a gem ID book if you win, too, unless you don't need one.

When you say may include, does that mean that some of the gems you listed won't be in the collection?

I dip the stones out with a special gem spoon. I know what's in the gem container, but I don't single out any stone or type of stone when I put together a parcel. So--you might get any or all of the stones identified. With
this particular parcel, you should be able to tell what's there.

If I specifically list a stone separately, it's definitely in the parcel, or if I comment that I am adding a certain type of stone, it will be there.

Do you have any paperwork to accompany the stones?
Oct 30th, 2014 at 5:24:37 AM PDT by
Original
No, but then when I buy them in lots of 500 carats, I don't get paperwork except a statement that all stones are natural gemstones and that the parcel is a mix. I use a Chelsea Filter on green stones to separate emeralds, I use a spectroscope to check refraction on stones I particularly want to identify. I have a JTV diamond and gem scale and a diamond tester.

Size?

For an auction like this, I dip some stones out and then weigh the entire parcel. As stated in the description, this parcel weighs 10.32 carats. One stone is slightly more than one carat, so the rest are just over 9 carats. I would never weigh smaller stones individually. The gem display jar is about 20% larger than a silver dollar.
