No there is no contract. You just put the address in and it will get you there.

Not sure about the maps. I used it a couple of times until I got a vehicle that had it built in.

No car charger...but the charge on it has lasted months from my home charge...and it takes a mini USB so you can get one for $10 if you need it.

I checked on it and they said that it can not be reregistered so it will not be any good to get it.

What model is it I have a Garmin nuvi but it didn't have lifetime updates and it costs $49.99 on there site to update so I plan on buying a new one unless I find that this one has the updates already.

Just a note for those who think its not going to work if they dont register it.....this is a GPS that requires Sat, not internet, you do not need to register it with anyone, now you can sign up for lifetime maps with it yes. i had one until i lost it, worked fine never needed internet unless i wanted to update the maps. so its a great item for auction, will be watching this one :)
