FREE: Pride of Barbados Seeds - Six seeds

Are these perennials? What winter temps can they withstand, if they are? What zones are they grown in? I remember seeing these growing in the Panama Canal Zone when we were stationed there, but I'm not sure how they would survive in northeast TN (zone 7) as an outdoor plant. I would appreciate any information you could give me about this. They are such gorgeous plants and I have a lot of hummingbirds in the summer who would love these!!! Thanks so much for listing them! I just checked out your location. We are originally from Texas, not far from where you are. We moved to TN from a small town off I-10 called Waelder, just 12 miles north of Gonzales. I have a feeling these plants might do alright her where we live, with some good mulching and, perhaps, covering them with some sort of container. That would depend, though, on whether you cut them back in the winter or not. Can you do that with these plants? Our winters here aren't really that much colder than central TX, with the exception of an occasional snow that may stay on the ground for a few days and only be from 2-4". Please let me know about being able to cut them back. I really do miss TX sometimes, but NOT the summer heat!!! Our normal summer temps here usually run between 85 and 90, with a rare few days up to 95. The grass usually stays green here year-round and the fall colors are just gorgeous---not like TX which has two colors (brown and browner)! LOL!!! Still, I'm a true Texan at heart! I look forward to hearing from you about my questions. I would really love to bid on these! Thanks!
