All you have to do is sit your phone into it and start your music and it plays louder just like a speaker. My son got a different phone so he gave me this to list on here plus they sent him a random color and he was not thrilled with the pink but he loved how it worked !! It's made out of the very soft silicone rubber. Make sure your phones fits into it. I put measurements in the pictures. PLEASE MAKE SURE BEFORE YOU BID THAT IT FITS YOUR PHONE!! The nice thing about this is that it does have lots of stretch to it and it won't break if you drop it, plus you can decorate it if you want to :-)
