Ditto girl I know the feeling. I am in the same boat with you. I may be another few weeks before I can do anything. I have two family members dying at the same time. One from Esophagus cancer and the other Advanced Alzheimer's.

Aw, sheesh ... that's awful.

My stepmother has Alzheimers. My father (her husband) died 12 years ago. She lives in New England and I live in Maryland so I never see her, but in June I went there to get her settled into assisted living. I hadn't seen her for 10 years. We had a lot of fun and I felt good about giving her a week to transition ... visit her house and neighbors, we went out to eat a few times, and by the time I left she was calling her new room "home."

But she's still really PO'd that I took her car away ... LOL. That seems to be the ONE thing she can remember ...

LOL we just got news two days ago, my aunt has taken a turn for the worse. She has refused to eat, lost all bodily functions, the blood veins are starting to turn a dark blue almost black, which means rigomortis is starting to set in she has had a total o 20 seizures within 10 minutes of each other. They keep her heavily sedated, and she runs a very high fever. So the end for her 60 years of such a young woman like her is coming to an end. Neither of her two sons have come to say their final goodbyes to her. Both boys are going to leave town and will have to live with that guilt for a very long time. My mom and I went to see her and my uncle that is dying from Esophagus Cancer, he looks like a bag of bones. He won't eat anything because it makes him sick after having the CHEMO and RADIATION TREATMENTS.

She is shutting down ... it what we do when we are ready ... or what our bodies do when they are ready ... sad news but soon she will be in a better, pain-free place. Don't worry about her sons (your cousins?) ... it is their problem. Just focus on your aunt and YOUR relationship with her. Try to let all the pain go with her ...
