Questions & Comments
You say "vintage", so I ask how old is it? Do you know approximately? Also, it's amazingly beautiful! :) Fanned!
Actually i don't. But i can tell you i found it in a old chest that belonged to my grandpa. And he passed a while ago. Not to mention all of the other really old stuff in it. I'm not into jewelry, So i would rather pass it to someone who is. And the patina of it shows age also. But i couldn't put an exact date. maybe try finding out the timeline of when that style clasp was being made. That's just a guess though. And thanks for fanning... fanning back! :)
Well, just from what you told me alone makes me think it has some great age to it. I'm in love with it and will be watching it and trying to get more credits. It's just gorgeous! I can just imagine the other treasures you discovered in that chest. Thanks for getting back to me and fanning me back! :)
I got lot of stuff in that chest. Some old war pins, and lots of pictures. And mostly, all his old Hydroplane stuff. He had been involved in hydroplanes since i think '55 or '56. Or at least i can trace it back that far for sure. And he ran the pits for years here in Seattle. Those are the things that mean something to me. I have VERY valuable RARE items and signatures from hydroplane people, (Muncey, Shumacher, Chenoweth,.. to name a few. Old Thriftway, and Thriftway Too press books with my Grandpa in it when he worked Hauls. I have his REALLY RARE one of a kind 1968 gold cup jacket, and all the patches from many years after that, that he had sewn on. And when i say one of a kind, i mean i'm the ONLY person with one in the world like it. I have pieces of boats that broke, or wrecked. My grandpa actually donated a huge amount of his stuff to the museum in Kent, WA. These are all things i really learned after his passing though. I heard a little bit growing up, but found this all out recently. And your welcome for the Fanning. :)
