Does it work? Does it have a new battery in it? Does you have the original box it came in?

It is brand new and works perfect. I always install a new battery even if the battery in it is still working. I do not have the box it came in. I will place it in a watch box for shipping.

How can it be water resistant to 99 feet, but you can't shower or get caught in the rain?

The problem is that watches are designed to take a certain pressure, but the vast majority are not individually tested. A certain % of the production will not be able to take the full indicated max. pressure, but leak.
The larger the WR, the less chance the watch will leak during normal use (swimming, shower, bath)
The manufacturers must safeguard themselves against warranty issues, and that is the reason for the quite ridiculous recommendations such as not fir showering or submersion because they have noir actually been tested.

But, if you have your WR 30m watch tested and the WR IS 30m, then you can of course take it down to 30m

Great question, hope this helps.
