My Friend Flicka is a 1941 novel by Mary O'Hara, about Ken McLaughlin, the son of a Wyoming rancher, and his horse Flicka. It was the first in a trilogy, followed by Thunderhead (1943) and Green Grass of Wyoming (1946). The popular 1943 film version featured a young Roddy McDowall. It was followed by film adaptations of the other two novels, Thunderhead, Son of Flicka in 1945 and Green Grass of Wyoming in 1948. A television series followed during 1956-1957 that first aired on CBS, then on NBC, with reruns on ABC and on CBS between 1959 and 1966. The Disney Channel re-ran the program during the mid-1980s too. The first two books, MY FRIEND FLICKA & THUNDERHEAD are each ORIGINAL First Print Editions by the J.B. Lippincott Company, with Original Illustrations by John Steuart Curry. The third book in the trilogy, "This is a special edition published exclusively for the members of the PEOPLES BOOK CLUB, P.O. Box 6570A, Chicago, Illinois. It is a STORY PRESS BOOK originally published by J.B. Lippincott Company". BOOK CONDITIONS: Binding~ Excellent on All Three. Pages~The first two are on a different print paper and Both look virtually unread/touched: These two were owned by the same person with her signature on the thicker cover page. The Third Book is on a thicker paper and has more of a read appearance. This book also contains the "Ex Libris" with the owners' names as well as the following on the "Title" page, in cursive: "Your Dream Home", "$3.95 name", " D.H. Book", "Columbia Broadcasting System", "NY 22, NY". NONE of the books have signs of having been in dampness; i.e. "musty". For "Delivery "Confirmation", you can go "Certified", and add a "Return Receipt" or just purchase a "Delivery Confirmation Receipt" straight out; but even if you just do a "Certified", they all have tracking numbers, and you can go on-line to see if and when it was delivered.
