The listing, Hyacinth Bean Vine has ended.
These are 10 purple Hyacinth bean vine seeds (Lablab purpurea) collected October 2014 from our backyard. It grew in one season over the top of an 8 foot trelis and was covered with purple blooms by August/September. It still is beautiful with loads of dark purple pods.
No. This is a decorative plant. This link has info about the plant and does state that some people use the bean for food but only after cooking to remove the poison. http://utgardens.tennessee.edu/pom/Sept08PHyacinthBean.html
I wouldn't think you would want to try this indoors. It grows very rapidly in the summer outdoors and reached about 6 foot tall and 3 foot around by the middle of summer. I started my seeds indoors about a month before the weather warmed up.
