It holds your dish of whatever food you have whipped up for the holiday and wraps and Velcro's around it and help keeps it warm for you. The bottom is thick and has the bead type items seen inside that help hold hear. This also has handled making it easier to carry! I don't have exact measurements but to show the best I could the dish we used in photos isa large casserole dish. It holds it snug and you can carry it with the handles. This is great for holidays, get togethers, picnics, etc. We used it a few times and now it's been put away so we wanted it to get to go to a home where it'll be used and appreciated!
