Royal Empress trees can reach roof height the very first year. A beautiful tree that will complement your home. You will be fascinated by the first year growth rate of up to 10 feet or more. You will get 20+ Seeds.
Seeds are small, surrounded by a feathery paper-like hull that helps them to blow in the wind and populate. Cover seeds with a professional potting soil mix. Keep moist and warm--but not too wet. Gradually expose seedlings to bright light, slowly. Once the seedlings are adjusted to light, plant them and watch them grow. The bonus includes 40+ seeds of the poppy. Most poppies are very easy to grow. They are a favorite of gardeners for rock gardens, flower beds, containers, and most any place that you want color. Start planting in spring March thru May or fall late September thru November. They like the cool weather to germinate, so most will tell you to plant your seeds in the fall or early spring, They can be grown in containers. Poppies like Full Sun. They will germinate in 5-14 days. The flower is a beautiful white with purple at the base Will also include 25+ seeds of the purple Turkish Poppy.

Wow! I looked up the 49th parallel on Wikipedia, and it covers territory from Canada, to France, Mongolia, and even Russia. It is such a wide area, I can't honestly say either way. I can tell you they will grow in zones 6-10 here in U.S.
Google it with your location and see what it says. I do know that thhese trees originate from the orient. Sorry that I couldn't be more help

Thanks anyway, I guess I should have been more specific. I will take your advice though.I hope they will do well here in southern Ontario.

I was told by the Zoning commisson here that these grow very well here in NM also, however, nothing is growing to well this year as we are facing the 37th day of temps over 100 and less than 2" of rain this year so far.
