Description
The listing, Ancient Early Christian Byzantine Coin - Unidentified Ruler - 1500 Years Old! has ended.
This is a nice GENUINE coin from the ancient Byzantine Empire. It probably dates from 400-1000 AD. This coin would be great for collecting and identifying, or making into a unique piece of jewelry! See photos for condition. Dime shown for size reference only. Must have verified address. All Listia rules apply. Shipping is FREE in the US, $7 shipping to Canada. Thanks for looking! That sounds pretty awesome! Have you ever explored old tunnel mines or anything like that? I know that old towns and places have some pretty cool things. What's the oldest item you've found?
The oldest item would probably be several Roman coins I found in Spain. They dated dated to around 200 AD. Most of the coins I found there were medieval or later. I've been in a few caves, but never a mine tunnel. I've found lots of interesting items here in Texas, I once explored the remains of a very old house in South Texas and got a strong hit on the hearthstone in front of the old fireplace. I moved it and underneath was a cavity with an old jar in it. I opened it and inside was a roll of old Republic of Texas paper money. The jar turned out to be kind of rare, too! That really made my day for sure!
Thanks for the heads up, I've fixed the photos. The last pic that you saw is a coin I'm currently researching, I mistakenly posted it here. It may be an unlisted variety, and I haven't completely researched it yet, but if you're interested, message me. Thanks!
just a question about the item, is the coin going to be placed in some sort of protective sleeve or something like that? also, how do you manage to find all of this stuff?
Hi, Yes, the coin will be sent in a plastic coin flip. I've been collecting ancient coins and artifacts for 30+ years, and have bought from archaeologists, historians, metal detectorists, etc. I've spent much time finding all these goodies!
Any place with good history! About 20 years ago, I went to Spain and spent several days hunting, and I found probably 200 coins and artifacts in that time. I'm currently hunting in an old Texas ghost town that is on private property. I've already found a few old dimes and quarters, hoping to find a gold coin. There's nothing that compares to the feeling of finding an old coin!
