The listing, Ouya Game System - Android Gaming Console - NEW!!!! has ended.

Get the newest gaming sensation: Ouya Gaming Console.

Video games just feel bigger and better on a TV screen. Surround Sound. HD. A room full of friends. Console gaming isn’t going anywhere, but console games aren’t as much fun as they could be.
That’s why we made OUYA: a new kind of game console, to bring groundbreaking games to the television in an entirely new way.
Games Only on OUYA
You download OUYA games directly to your console -- no discs to buy or scratch.
And the games on OUYA are made by some of the most inventive game developers in the business. Favorite franchises like Final Fantasy, brand new never-before-seen titles and hundreds of other games. Shooters, platformers, role-playing games, action games... You name it.
Small... but Powerful
OUYA is about the size of a Rubik’s cube, but it plays hard in full-screen HD. It uses an nVIDIA quad-core CPU and outputs via HDMI at up to a stunning 1080p resolution. It powers on instantly.
Need more storage? No problem. Just plug in an external hard drive into the USB 2.0 port. Like to hardwire your Internet? That’s cool. Jack into OUYA’s high-speed ethernet port. WiFi works too. If you want to develop games, just plug your laptop into our micro-USB port -- anyone can release an OUYA game. And the hardware opens so you can customize it if that’s your bag.
We listen to our supporters, and try to evolve OUYA so it always gets better for them. When you buy OUYA, you become part of our effort to change how console gaming works.
OUYA... lovingly made by a team of gamers who believe that console games will never die.
What’s in the OUYA Box?

● OUYA wireless controller with removable faceplates
● HDMI cable

This system is also great as a Media Server with native XBMC app, native VLC app and native PLEX app.

are there a lot of kid friendly games available like for a 6yr old
Dec 4th, 2014 at 9:39:42 AM PST by

Yes, there are a lot of kid friendly games. There are also emulators which allow you to download and run older games from the game systems of days gone by, lol.

Do these emulators work on games from the 90s? If so, could I input the controller keys for the keys on the keyboard?
Dec 4th, 2014 at 5:22:26 PM PST by
Original
I believe the emulators can go back further than the 90s. I am not sure about the control settings vs. keyboard input.

there was one listed about a year ago.. i invested in the kickstarter for this system because it was a great concept to get away from the bigger money hungry systems out there alot of indi. titles out there, and every game out there is required to have a free to play option. (either demo, the first few lvl's, so many minutes)
Dec 5th, 2014 at 11:03:25 AM PST by

Yes, I like the free to play concept. I have another one that I use as a full entertainment system. The media server aspect is great and like that it plays MKV files. I don't know how many hours I spent playing AVP Evolution. I see where a new company is porting over games including one of my favorites: Splinter Cell.

so can it emulate better than the psp? Also could I move files via a thumbdrive or is it soley wifi?
Dec 7th, 2014 at 7:34:03 AM PST by

You can move files via a thumbdrive or external hard drive. As for the comparison between the emulators on the PSP vs. the Ouya, I am not sure. I have never seen the emulators on a PSP. Your PSP must be jailbroken / modded. Ouya allows you to use third party apps and firmware without it voiding the warranty.

My favorite part of the console is that it is also an SDK. So, yay indie developing!

Yeah, great for anyone who wants to try and develop their own indie game.

The final hours are here. Will have to see which comes first: the first bid over 100,000 or someone using GIN. Good luck.
