We visited four colleges, had rain the first day but the rest of the week was gorgeous! It was a lot of fun but extremely exhausting. We have to visit a bunch more this summer, just have to pick which ones!

Well, I liked Princeton but my daughter liked Yale best. Hopkins also was great, but none of us liked Brown as well ... kind of an odd population of kids there. Any of these schools are a crapshoot no matter how smart the kid, so we've got to find some safety schools, that's for sure!

Well, my husband is losing his job in October. We plan to stay in Iowa until my younger daughter graduates, but then will go back east unless he gets another job here, which is unlikely. My older daughter has gotten into the college she wants to go to, but it's another $50K/year school, so we're agonizing over that now. She also has a scholarship at a Virginia school, which would cost us half that. Both are good schools for her, but she really wants to go to American, which is in Washington DC.

I just saw your e-mail about the hospital, but I probably wouldn't have been able to join you. Was it fun! I hope you actually got to give some stuff to the kids!

We are not sad about leaving Iowa, because we're from the East Coast and have a house there on the Chesapeake Bay. We plan to retire there, but my husband is hoping to get another job so we're not sure where we'll end up. My daughter graduates next June (2011) so we will stay here in WDM until then, which might mean that my husband has to live along if he DOES get another job. It's just a bad situation all the way around, and we are all very stressed about it right now.

I wish you and your husband the best. Hope you can find a place you both will like to live. I went to the hosplital,but they won't let people give the kids the toys do to infections and safety rules. But They were very happy to get them and they said to let eveyone know they said thank you! I did get a paper I had to fill out. And I took pictures pf all the toys I was able to get with everyones help. i will send everyone a copy of the paper and pictures of the toys.Have a great evening. Your friend graeve

Thanks Graeve! We will be fine, it's just the uncertainty that is difficult. Our older daughter also got into the college she really wants to go to, but it is so expensive we're having a lot of trouble with that too. She got a scholarship at another school, in Virginia, also a very good school, but her first choice is really the best choice for her. We just thought his job would last at least another year or two, and with two kids going to college it's a real bad time to feel uncertain about $$$ ! We'll be fine though, always have been blessed and we know how lucky we are!
