Description

The listing, Vintage POSTCARD Carroll Park & Western Steam RAILROAD & Museum Bloomsburg PA has ended.

**Yellow streaks are from my scanner and are not on postcard front.

Up for bid is a nice old chrome postcard in great condition! View shows passengers boarding the train (Train No. 11~ the Western Express - see info. on postcard back) at this tourist attraction in Bloomsburg, PA.

Carroll Park was in operation from the mid 1960s till the 1970s. Located on RT. 11 between Bloomsburg and Berwick, PA, it was a Wild West family attraction and was actually the railroad featured in the movie "The Molly Maguires", starring Sean Connery.

In more recent years (around the turn of the new century), what was left of Carroll Park (alias Deadwood Flats) was a weekend flea market.

Most of the buildings are now in poor repair; maybe by now, gone altogether. The last time I was by there, part of the property was occupied by new commercial buildings.

This card is fairly hard to find (distribution was probably mainly in the northeast -east section of the US), and would be a great addition to any collection of postcards.

Card will be shipped in a reinforced regular envelope. Smoke-free home.

And as for the remote area, no it is right along route 11, which is a busy highway.

I haven't been over that way in about 8 years. Used to go by it every Saturday on the way to an auction, and some of the buildings were already gone. I have a feeling by now that they are probably all gone. It was getting in pretty bad shape (no upkeep at all).
