The listing, Custom made dog coat or sweater has ended.

The winner of this auction will get to choose the size and color of their dog's brand new custom made coat or sweater. The first one is waterproof with fleece lining which was made for a german shepherd who lives in NY. The second, third and fourth ones were upcycled from human sweaters, shrugs, etc,, and the last was won by someone on Listia who has a mastiff in Alaska. I can also make these for cats, ferrets, piglets, baby goats, etc..
I cannot make this listing shorter or do a GIN due to the time of year and I have to finish my own Christmas presents!

That is beautiful. I am looking for a horse style blanket/coat for my dog but I don't want velcro. It just gets clogged up with dog hair. I just want buckles and hooks. No one makes those anymore!

If you'd like specific fabric that I don't have and you want a coat made for your dog, we can definitely work something out. When I moved from NC to GA in Feb. someone broke into my home and stole thousands of dollars worth of fabric, mannequins, etc...as I had a very busy home based sewing business. When we got to GA, I only had about 4 of those plastic tubs of fabric that I had brought with me and my sewing machine and embroidery machine. Being on disability I could not afford to replace all the supplies that were stolen, so it was then that I found Listia. I have slowly been rebuilding my "stash" with fabrics from here. I had everything you could think of, from tassels and specialty lace, vinyl, leather, sunbrella, just tons of fabric...makes me sick to think about it now....I have been sewing for over 40 years so I had quite a lot of fabric that was vintage and I also had bought out most of an upholstery store that went out of business. We couldn't fit all of that into the truck and trailer when we drove to GA the first time, so my daughter was supposed to go back and get what was at the house and put it in storage until I could go back and get it and that's when we found out there was nothing left.

The coat in photos 7 and 8 (black with white lining) is one she made for me after I won one of her Listia auctions. It was for one of my miniature schnauzers and it is wonderful! Very well made and fits perfectly. It takes a bit longer than usual to receive your win, but since it's custom-made for you, it's completely understandable. And she's very good about responding to emails. I can highly recommend this Listian! And thanks again for the lovely coat you made for me!!! Happy Holidays :o)

Oh my goodness how awful... and it had to be someone who knew what they were doing or was hired to do it. :(

I bought some fabrics to make my dog a coat but I still haven't been able to clear enough space to get to work on it - and I don't trust my skills all that much, either... I'll send you a private message here after the holidays and we can work stuff out.

I have a small Shih Tzu and a small is to small and a medium is to big, so you are my last hope to get something to fit her. She's an ole girl that's why I am having trouble. She's 13 1/2 years old and old age has caught up with her.

Hello and so nice to meet you!
Mrs. Adams here :)
We have a 5 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
named Rex Wolfheart (tri color-black, tan and white)
He's an angel but also a little tiger and already tore apart
his Christmas coat...
He weighs about 40 pounds (he is a giant for his breed)
is tall, and about 18 inches long from base of tail to neck...
The problem is with the girth that is always too short...
He has a little pot belly so every coat we get him,
is either too long or won't snap around his body well!
It would be so exciting to custom make him a coat!
Hubby George would like a black coat,
fully insulated and weather proof material on top,
with a military army sergeant rank!!!
I hope to win this auction!!
No rush, this could be prepared after the new year.
If you don't have the fabric,
I can go to the Goodwill store and buy a child's coat,
and send it to you so you can turn it into a dog's coat.
Would that be possible?
I would give you exact dimensions if and when I win.
We would like a puffy coat for him as it can get quite cold here.
We live in Maine and even with his fur he gets cold...

Since I basically only make custom pet coats, that would not be a problem to make one that will fit him. I try to upcycle as much as possible using clothing, bedspreads, blankets etc, that I get either donated or purchase from the thrift stores....or what I can win on here! LOL. if you win, I would be more than happy to have you get a coat and send it to me to be made into a coat for your dog. Also, any embroidery that you want on it, is included in the win. I am swamped right now, so I am not able to take any more requests at this time, but after the New Year, I hope to have some more free time for custom items. I can make one for any size pet from a hamster up to a horse. I make most of my own patterns and customize the store bought ones, for a perfect fit. Thank you!
