That is all they had to work with. I t is a good thing for not only did they eat the meat they left nothing. used the bone to make neddles , spoon and boxes Fanned you and good luch

this is made of bone definately, probably yak or camel bone, depending if it came from Nepal or India

I just sold two similar on here, made of camel bone and made in India, mine had stickers. Same owl hinges! Mine were not antique but have a stain put on them to make them look antiqued. See my completed auctions for pix.

It is made out of yak bone. I'm also confused as to why it had a made in india sticker as the findings that are used are of tibetan origin. Very nice lot though!

I am not sure but bone boxes of this type tend to be Middle Eastern in origin. How did you end of getting the box?

It was a gift to me some years ago, she didn't tell me anything about it besides the fact that was a little jewellery box, at the beginning it had a sticker on the bottom that said made in India, but I took it off, I hope that help. Thank you :) :)
